PLEASE... |

The
results are in and H2Overdrive has won Game
of the Decade! We are honored...thanks to all
the fans who went to the polls.
We were a strong second for
Game of the Year but it went to some DJ game, go
figure. Next time around we will crush the
competition.

| NEW MYSTERY
GAME |
Well, we're at it again. We can't really say
much at the moment but we have signed a contract
to do another arcade game for Eugene and Raw
Thrills. Rest assured it will be just as
kick-ass as H2Overdrive...even more so since
this time around we'll get to do some of the
crazy things we didn't have time for last time. |

| WELCOME ABOARD
FLEET ADMIRAL |
We knew there would be some of you crazy enough
to go all the way up the chain of command.
Completing the game, which involves over 50
achievements per track would be impressive on a
console but even more so on an arcade game.
Congratulations! Here is a link to a video of
the final two races that put him over the top:

DESTRUCTION WANG |

We just recently had the entertaining task of
translating H2O into Japanese. This is our
second non-English version of the game. When we
originally completed the English version we
immediately set about localizing it into
Chinese, so H2O is out there in three flavors
already. The Chinese version is doing well and
we have high hopes for the Japanese version.
As always if you play one
let us know where and how you liked it.

final build and production cabinets will start
rolling off the assembly line very soon. Keep an
eye out and when you find one be sure and let us
know what you think. |

OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCED |
So yeah, ok, it's been a year since we have
posted any news. We've been really busy. Busy
working on H2Overdrive. Below is a picture of 4
linked prototypes on the ATEI show floor in
London just a fortnight ago. Check out the

| NEW PROGRAMMER
POSITION |
We're looking for a talented programmer to join
our team and help create what will soon become
one of the most highly anticipated arcade games
in years. This is a next-gen arcade game that'll
be as much fun to play as it was to develop. If
you're interested and have the chops, visit our

| ON LOCATION |

The eagle has landed!
Specular has taken possession of its new
facility in beautiful
Irvine,
California, located at the intersection of
High Tech & Fun!
Cheesy slogans not
withstanding, our new location is a five-minute
drive from all sorts of shopping, restaurants,
movie theatres, gyms, and is very easily
accessible, near where the 5 meets the 133.
To go with our new digs,
we’ve also bought all brand new equipment,
including two gorgeous 24” widescreen monitors
for every developer.
Several artists have been seen hugging these
displays and attempting to hand-feed them
strawberries. An
investigation is currently underway.

| MYSTERY GAME |
|
We have big news – we just signed our first
arcade game development deal with Raw Thrills,
an arcade developer and publisher founded by
Eugene Jarvis! Eugene’s a legend in the arcade
industry, having developed classic hits such as
Defender, Robotron: 2084, Smash TV, and the
Cruis’n series of arcade racers.
Our game hasn’t been
announced yet so we can’t say much right now
(big surprise, right?), but we can tell you that
we’re super thrilled to be working on a game of
this caliber! Keep checking our Games page for
more info.

GO! |

Wow, we made it! We’re finally here with our
first post ever! Who are we? We’re the team at
Specular Interactive, a newly formed independent
game development studio with a pretty cool
twist. We roll a little differently here at
Specular because unlike pretty much the rest of
the world, we’ve chosen to develop arcade games.
That’s right, the big arcade games that you drop
coins in to play.
Choosing to develop arcade
games wasn’t arbitrary. Quite a few of the
developers here at Specular have worked on
arcade games before – pretty successful ones
like Hydro Thunder™ and Off Road Thunder™. Turns
out we’re pretty good at it, which is why we
formed Specular.
Have a look around our
website to learn more about Specular, our open
job positions, and our talented team. We’ll post
more soon, so check back.
