Here at Specular Interactive we are on a mission to create a truly fun and exciting game experience no matter if you are playing in the arcade, at home or on the go. We are also intent on having fun while doing it.

Sure, we are a business and we want to be profitable, but we are lucky enough to work in the games business. If you can't have a good time making games you're probably doing it wrong. We work hard. We work crazy hours when we need to but we love what we do...and when you love what you do you do it better.

Specular Interactive was formed in early 2007 by Steve Ranck. Before Specular, Steve founded Swingin’ Ape Studios which was soon purchased by Blizzard Entertainment.

Specular Interactive consists of mostly ne'er-do-wells and social misfits as you can see from the picture below. Still, we are professionals, a group of veteren software engineers and artists with many years experience in interactive media, brought together by a shared vision of what makes a truly excellent games company and creative playground.

The team here at Specular is an enthusiastic and creative group of talented developers with a rich history of game crafting. Our team has been responsible for the design and development of such hits as Hydro Thunder™ (arcade) and Metal Arms: Glitch in the System™, and has contributed to many other successful games like The Suffering™, Off Road Thunder™ (arcade), Zork: Nemesis™, Call of Duty 3™, World of Warcraft™ and many others.
